ENTELEC R&T Committee Files Comments with the FCC Regarding UAS Technology
Last month, the FCC issued a Public Notice seeking input on how the agency’s rules and policies could be revised to achieve U.S. supremacy in drone technology, manufacturing, and operations. The ENTELEC R&T Committee filed comments in support of the industry encouraging the FCC to embrace these emerging technologies and treat UAS technology as vital telecommunications infrastructure. The R&T Committee encouraged the FCC to relax the rules governing the CBRS band to promote UAS-based operations and to also consider allocating high-capacity, contiguous blocks of spectrum for airborne transmissions that can co-exist with incumbent systems.
